Thoughts on the Starcraft 2 Midnight Launch and the beginning of my quarter-life crisis

Things I found interesting:

I would like to say, “for once, I can easily say I was the coolest guy in the room,” but the mere fact that I was in attendance at such an event immediately disqualifies me from such boasting. So I’ll save that comment for when I nuke all those nerds.

A surprisingly small turnout of Koreans (note: many may have been Cloaked or shadowed by a Science Vessel)

A non-Gamestop employee female was present. I found this rather fascinating until I discovered her boyfriend was too young to drive.

Personal reflections:

I imagine somewhere out there highly acclaimed rapper/singer/songwriter Drake was in line at a Gamestop thinking the same thing I was: What am I doin’?

It’s been about 8 years since I played Starcraft. My hair is long now.

In High School, Starcraft was the single most vapid sewage drain of my time and culprit to blame for any academic, athletic and social underperformance which may have been a result. Had I never began playing the game I most certainly would have achieved better grades, reached faster swim records, and perhaps changed the person who I am today. Do I regret my days and nights wasted on this game? No. With this sequel, now, am I willing to destroy a slightly more successful and fit future version of myself? “Affirmative, sir!”
